What is the 2nd year extension?

The Australian Second Working Holiday Visa, also known as the WHM Visa, gives young people between the ages of 18 and 30 the opportunity to enjoy another year in Australia on a working holiday

When can I apply?

You must

• have previously entered Australia on a subclass 417 visa. If you haven’t, see the first Working Holiday visa

• hold a passport from an eligible country or jurisdiction

• be 18 to 30 years old (inclusive) - except for Canadian, French and Irish citizens who can be 18 to 35 (inclusive)

• have completed 3 months of specified work on your first Working Holiday visa

• not be accompanied by dependent children

Where can I apply?

You can be in or outside Australia when you apply for the visa.

If you apply in Australia, you must be in Australia when we decide your application.

If you apply outside Australia, you must be outside Australia when we decide your application.

What documents will I need?

• A bank statement covering the entire period of your claimed specified work

• Bus tickets, accommodation or general receipts in your name

• Payslips

• Group certificates

• Tax returns

• Employer references on official letterhead
